The Opportunity

Pender PR was brought onto the Red Snow team to work alongside director Marie Clements and the cast on the theatrical debut of her debut dramatic feature. Pender PR was responsible for all promotion, press releases, coordination of interviews and liaised with the social media, marketing and distribution team from A71. In addition to the theatrical launch we executed the red carpet for the Red Snow launch at the Vancouver International Women’s Film Festival and were subsequently hired by A71 for the film's digital launch on Apple, iTunes and all digital platforms nationally.

The team from Red Snow brought us back on board for the films broadcast debut on CBC Gem where we secured more press coverage, hired a social media team, oversaw the social advertising campaign and liaised with the team at CBC Films to deliver a successful broadcast launch.

The Results

For Red Snow we were able to secure hundreds of interviews, reviews and feature pieces for the team. Our press campaigns centred on renowned director Marie Clements and lead actor and pop star Mozhdah Jamalzadah. We worked alongside the team to promote the film from festivals, to the theatrical release, to digital and eventually to broadcast. Outlets we worked with included etalk, CBC q, Georgia Straight, Now, The Globe & Mail, That Shelf and The National Post.

RED SNOW Synopsis

Red Snow is a dramatic feature that begins when Dylan, a Gwich’in soldier from the Canadian Arctic, is caught in an ambush in Afghanistan. His capture and interrogation by a Taliban Commander releases a cache of memories connected to the love and death of his Inuit cousin, Asana, and binds him closer to a Pashtun family as they escape across treacherous landscapes and through a blizzard that becomes their key to survival. Written and directed by Marie Clements and starring Mozhdah Jamalzadah, Tantoo Cardinal and Asivak Koostachin.
